Private Couples Immersion
An in-person experience for couples to reconnect and explore new ways of relating
Relationships can easily become shaped by the demands of everyday life. Work, family, responsibilities and familiar ways of relating can leave little space to slow down and really experience one another.
This private five-hour couples immersion offers an opportunity to retreat from everyday life for a while and give your relationship your full attention.
You may feel that you've become disconnected, be navigating a period of change, or simply want to give more time and attention to a relationship that matters to you. For some couples, the experience is an opportunity to reset and reconnect. For others, it is a chance to become more curious about one another and deepen a relationship that is already strong.
This isn't couples therapy, and you don't need to be experiencing a relationship crisis to come.
More Than Talking About Your Relationship
The immersion is experiential and shaped around the two of you. Conversation is part of the experience, but we don't only sit and talk about what is happening in your relationship. I bring together relationship and communication practices with coaching, somatic awareness, embodied exercises and practices influenced by Tantra, so that you can explore how you actually experience yourselves and one another in the moment.
There is a particular emphasis on attunement: slowing down enough to notice yourself, your partner and what happens between you. Our bodies and nervous systems can communicate things that we don't always recognise through thinking alone. You might know intellectually that you want greater closeness, for example, while noticing that your body tightens or pulls away when your partner moves towards you. You may discover that it's easier to give than receive, that you lose connection with yourself when expressing a need, or that a familiar response happens before you've consciously decided how to react.
Rather than immediately analysing these responses or trying to change them, we can become curious about them. Sometimes the most revealing moments aren't found in talking about the relationship, but in slowing things down enough to notice what is actually happening between you.
What Might We Explore?
Every couple is different, so I don't follow a fixed programme. Your immersion is shaped around what is happening in your relationship, what you would both like from the experience and what emerges as we work together.
We might explore how you communicate and listen, how you experience closeness and distance, what happens around needs and boundaries, or how you relate to giving and receiving, vulnerability, affection and intimacy. There can also be space to notice recurring patterns, deepen emotional and embodied connection, and experiment with different ways of meeting and responding to one another.
Depending on what feels relevant, we may work with conversation and coaching alongside somatic awareness, movement, breath, eye contact, conscious touch and tantric practices that explore presence, energy, attunement, giving and receiving, connection and intimacy.
These aren't exercises to perform correctly or a set programme to work through. The practices give us ways of slowing down and bringing more awareness to what is happening within you and between you, allowing the experience to develop in response to the two of you.
Bringing the Body Into the Conversation
Relationships aren't experienced through our thoughts alone. We also experience them through the body: in the impulse to move closer or pull away, the breath we hold before saying something difficult, the tension that appears when we feel vulnerable, the ease or discomfort of receiving attention, or the way our body responds to closeness and touch.
Somatic work gives us another way of listening to this information. Rather than relying only on what you already understand about your relationship, we can become curious about what your bodies and nervous systems are communicating in the moment.
This isn't about interpreting every physical response or giving it a particular meaning. It is about developing greater awareness of your own experience while becoming more attuned to your partner. Over time, that can create more possibility for choice rather than automatically following familiar ways of protecting, withdrawing, pursuing or responding.
Creating Space to Meet Each Other Again
One of the reasons I offer this as a five-hour immersion rather than a conventional one-hour session is that it gives us time. There is less pressure to identify a problem, talk about it and find a solution within an hour. We can slow things down, explore something, notice what happens, take a break when needed and allow the experience to develop.
This creates a different quality of attention from the one available when you're trying to have an important conversation at home between everything else happening in your lives. There is time not only to understand something intellectually, but to experience another way of being together.
The intention isn't to leave with a perfect relationship or a list of things you need to fix. It is to create space to understand yourselves and one another differently, experience new ways of relating and reconnect with what matters between you.
Who Is This For?
This experience is for couples who are curious about their relationship and willing to explore it together. You don't need to arrive with a problem to solve or wait until something is wrong.
You might be feeling disconnected, moving through a change in your lives or relationship, or wanting to give greater attention to connection and intimacy. Equally, you may already have a strong relationship and simply want the opportunity to explore one another differently.
Five uninterrupted hours away from your usual roles, responsibilities and distractions can be valuable in itself.
Before Your Couples Immersion
Before booking, we'll have a Zoom discovery call to talk about what is bringing you both to the immersion, what you would each like from the experience and anything important for me to understand about your relationship. This also allows you both to ask questions, hear more about how I work and decide whether the experience feels right for you.
Your Private Couples Immersion is five hours and takes place in person at my home studio in Chigwell, Essex, IG7. Investment: £600
