How to Manage your Self-Doubt
When we suffer from self-doubt it can feel crippling. It gets in the way of trying new things. Of getting what we want. It makes us give up when things get challenging. And it keeps us in situations that no longer make us happy.
The strength of our self-doubt repeatedly hits us over the head until eventually, we give up trying.
If you’re tired of living with self-doubt maybe these tips will help you;
💥 Make friends with it. A certain amount of self-doubt is healthy. It’s when it gets out of control that it becomes a problem. Ask yourself what is the gift of self-doubt? E.g. It makes me strive for excellence. It builds my confidence. It’s a sign that I’m doing something worthwhile.
💥 Focus on what you can do instead of giving power to what you can’t. Your self-doubt is the voice of your inner critic and it’s not to be believed.
💥 Keep trying even if you think you can’t. And if it doesn’t work you can pivot and try something new. Remember there are no wrong decisions.
💥 Make a plan of what you will do to get back on track if you ‘fail’ (this will help quieten your inner critic).
💥 Have an end goal in mind but don’t think you need to have all the answers to get there. What is the first step you can take? And then think about the next step and the step after. Make the steps big enough that they matter but small enough that they are manageable.
